Jerald P. Vizzone, D.O. performs traditional orthopaedic surgical procedures, including cervical and lumbar fusion, shoulder arthroscopy / rotator cuff repair, and knee arthroscopy. Dr. Vizzone also performs highly specialized arthroscopic (endoscopic) discectomy procedures of the cervical and lumbar spine. In these procedures, a small incision is made and a telescope is placed into the disc space-removing part of the disc, and leaving the majority. Please refer to the patient education section on the website. These procedures are designed to treat various conditions including herniated discs or pinched nerves in the neck and back, and are usually performed as a same day surgery. Due to the fact that this is a minimally invasive approach, many of the risks and possible complications associated with traditional spine surgeries are drastically reduced, while maintaining many of the benefits.
